She flies like a …bat? Another Named Blair tee

plumblairfront2Hi Again

I am back again to share my first Named Blair batwing tee.

You can find the pattern here and it is a very quick make – I made this one in a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon to check the fit before I cut into the jersey for my Minerva Crafts Blogger Network project.plumblairback2I cut a size 40-44, sewed the seams on my sewing machine using a narrow zigzag and finished with my overlocker. I used clear elastic to stabilise the shoulder seams and the neckline is finished with self binding rather than being turned under. plumblairfront1This fabric is this plum marl viscose jersey from Minerva Crafts – it’s very lightweight and slightly sheer and the drape works well for this pattern.plumblairfront3I sewed this up exactly as it was designed and the only thing I changed for version 2 was the neckline width – I end up adjusting bra straps with this one which is always slightly annoying – when I made my second version I reduced the neckline width by about an inch and a half at each side.

This might be my new favourite quick make – giant sleeves for the win! What is your go to quick make?

This looks really nice on you, especially in the “batty” environment! Thanks for the neckline advice – I have this pattern, look forward to making it up.
